Application for Grant of Letters of Administration in HK for Deceased who died domiciled in South Korea
Case study:
A deceased died (without a Will) domiciled in South Korea, leaving bank accounts in HK.
To inherit the money in HK, the Deceased's spouse or children had to apply to the HK Probate Registry of the HK High Court for Grant of Letters of Administration.
The Grant of Letters of Administration is to give authority to the administrator (spouse and/or children) to deal with the money in the bank accounts in HK.
The bank in HK could then close the bank accounts in HK and let the administrator(s) appointed under the Grant to deal with the money in the bank accounts.
